I upgraded to the new IOS and the Liquid Glass effect is negatively affecting my eyesight and has caused me considerable discomfort.
I am unable to remove it and advice on YouTube regarding transparency and others have not solved the issue.

No, it’s an integral part of iOS 26 and all OS versions moving forward. You cannot revert to iOS 18.
When users request changes, Apple may respond with updates that address specific issues. Please provide your feedback directly to Apple using the link I shared below.
You might be able to “tune” it so as to be less objectionable.
