How do I stop siri from activating when I wake my phone with the side button?

I have raise/touch to wake turned off. I have an iPhone 13 mini. When I press the side button to wake my phone, just once and not a long press, it always (or maybe almost always) activates siri. How do I stop this; it is driving me crazy.

Go to Settings > Siri > Talk and Type to Siri > Turn off Press Side Button for Siri.

See if this setting helps for touch:

Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Haptic Touch > {slow}

And for the button:

Settings > Accessibility > [top or side] Button > Click Speed > {slow}

Siri can be disabled in the same [top or side] button spot.

If there is a protective case involved, remove it and test again, as those can cause issues with buttons.

I just have not seen that as a software bug with iOS 26 or reported by anyone else, which is why I suggested that the button may be sticky. There may be a delay in the screen waking up after several minutes of sleep, but the single click is all that is needed still and not holding the button until you see the screen wake. You can get it checked out by scheduling an appointment with Apple.

If that was a bug in iOS 26, there would be many people reporting that as a problem and I would recommend sending a bug report to Apple using the feedback link, but it does not appear that is the case.

Thanks, but I want to keep that setting on. There is a bug where iPhone is recognizing my short press as a long press, but only sometimes. I don't believe my side button is sticky, but I guess it could be. It seems to be more of a software bug when my phone has been locked for a few minutes (versus a few seconds) where a slight delay happens before my screen wakes up, and Siri activates as a side effect. But I can sleep/wake my phone repeatedly after that and Siri does not activate. Hence why I believe the physical button works fine without stickiness.
