Does Apple Watch Total Calories Burned (Resting Energy + Active Energy) include "Thermic Effect of Food" (TEF)
From Online TDEE Calculator, my estimate maintenance intake (assuming sedentary) is around 1,750kcal with BMR estimated at 1,540kcal.
From my apple watch, Resting Energy is averaging around 1,550kcal which seems equal to my estimated BMR. Active Energy seems like it's equal to EAT + NEAT based on the description.
Since TDEE = BMR + NEAT + TEF + EAT. My question is does Apple watch total energy algorithm take factor of Thermic Effect of Food (TEF) in the calculation.
If im planning to eat at maintenance, do I have to add TEF to the Apple's Watch total calories, assuming 10% of total intake (although I understand it depends on the macros).
