Error message: Mobile Safari couldn't open the page because the server stopped responding.

This is on iPhone 12 iOS 18.7.1. I have tried the basic things (restarting the iPhone; clearing the cache and history etc) to no avail. I've reason to suspect a browser issue because there is no timeout on other mobile browsers like MS Chrome or Firefox; all on the same device. Yet many seem to contend that it is an issue with the website and/or the servers host though admittedly the response time to access the web page in question is poor though successful everywhere but Safari. Direct access in Safari via URL also works but it fails when accessed by using a navigation path on the website. I can duplicate this just be attempting to access the same web page using Safari. On a laptop, it works using Safari.
