iOS 26 'Always On' feature not working for clock display

I use "Always On" for my clock, especially at night. It seems this was broken in iOS 26, as despite the preference setting, it still automatically goes off (the display blacks out). I have verified this, reset the setting, rebooted the phone -- it consistently breaks.

Always On is not Always On, especially at night if the phone is not being used or moved.

Go to Settings/Display & Brightness, tap Always On and see what it says about how it works at the top of the page.

Are you charging overnight? If not Always On will be disabled if you are not using the iPhone.
