Apple Gift Card Scam

Received this email today:

"Quick question, sorry to bother!

do you purchase using amazo n?

Suzanne"

I then responded with confusion (for context, we run a small family run online business and they emailed our company email:

"I'm not sure what you mean by this? We do not purchase our products from amazon."

They then responded with:

"I apologize for bothering you with this, I am trying to get an Apple Gift Card for my cousin she has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, she also lost her only daughter to the disease COVID-19. and it's her birthday today but i am unable to get it done because i am out of town, I also tried to purchase it online unfortunately no luck. I would appreciate if you can get the card from any store around you? I'll reimburse you when I get back, let me know if you can handle this for me.

Suzanne"

... If this was legit, why doesn't she buy an e-card for her cousin?

I replied and simply said, "We're not an Apple Store, sorry."
