Push Notifications don’t work in Mail app

Hello. I set up and added a Gmail account to the Mail app. Next, I turned on notifications for the application to get notifications when I receive a new message. However, for some reason, despite the enabled notifications in Settings, notifications do not come. The only thing that happens is that an icon with the number of unread messages appears on the Mail application. I decided to install the Gmail app and check the notifications there. To my surprise, notifications come if you use the Gmail application. Is it possible to solve my problem somehow, because it is more convenient for me to use the built-in Mail application?

Gmail does not support Push when using the native Mail app on the iPhone. You have to use Fetch. You would need to check the Fetch setting for the default Mail app to set a Fetch schedule if you wish the do that. The quickest you can set Fetch is 15 minutes, so the Mail app checks your account every 15 minutes to see if you have new mail. You have discovered that using the Gmail app does allow for Push notification in the app. You would have to determine what works best for your situation and decide from there.

I understand your frustration. That is why I went with the Gmail app. It was Google's decision not to support Push in Apple's native Mail application. Glad I could answer your question.

Thank you for the answer! It's sad that Push notifications are not supported. In my case, I often log in to accounts where there is a confirmation code. And it would be easier to enter the code if Push notifications came when the message appeared on the mailbox

All of the above settings have already been enabled in the same way. However, despite this, I received a notification about your answer through the Gmail app and not the Mail app
