All applications disappeared after turning on family access

Hello, when setting up the family on the iPhone (I wanted to turn it off). Application Restriction has been turned on. All applications have disappeared on the iPhone, and it is impossible to download anything from the app store. What to do in this situation.

iPhone 13, iOS 26

Check Screen Time Content & Privacy Restrictions

Family Sharing often enables Screen Time, and the settings within can hide or prevent the use of apps.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Screen Time.
  3. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If it's on, this is likely the cause.
  4. If prompted, enter your Screen Time passcode.
  5. Check these sections:
    • iTunes & App Store Purchases: Make sure Installing Apps and Deleting Apps are set to Allow.
    • Allowed Apps & Features: Review the list. If apps like Safari, Camera, or even the App Store are disabled, they will disappear from the Home Screen. Make sure the important ones are On.
    • App Store, Media, Web, & Games (or Content Restrictions): Check the Apps section. If the allowed age rating is set too low (e.g., 4+), apps with higher ratings will be hidden. Try setting it to a higher rating like 17+ or Allow All Apps to see if they return.

Search for the Apps

The apps might not be deleted; they could just be moved off the Home Screen and into the App Library.

Use Spotlight Search: Swipe down from the middle of any Home Screen and type the name of one of the missing apps (e.g., "Facebook" or "Maps").

    • If it appears, it's still installed. You can open it from here.

Check the App Library: Swipe left past all your Home Screen pages until you reach the App Library.

    • Look for the missing apps there. You can tap and hold an app icon in the App Library and select Add to Home Screen to bring it back.

Check for Hidden Home Screen Pages

If all your apps (except the Dock) disappeared, you might have accidentally hidden an entire Home Screen page.

Touch and hold a blank area of the Home Screen until the apps start to "jiggle" (edit mode).

Tap the row of dots above the Dock, which represents your Home Screen pages.

A grid of your Home Screen pages will appear. Make sure there is a checkmark under every page you want to see. Pages without a checkmark are hidden.

Tap Done in the top right.

Restart Your iPhone

A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.

  1. Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the Power Off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn your iPhone off.
  3. After about 30 seconds, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.

If you are the Family Organizer, and these steps don't work on your own iPhone, it might be an account synchronization issue. Try signing out of and back into Media & Purchases in Settings > [Your Name] > Media & Purchases.
