Can’t stop access when locked to control centre

Hi, tried to secure my phone in case of theft using Face ID and Passcode options.

Allow access when locked is toggled off for control centre yet when I test it, it still gives access?

The software all up to date.

Has anyone had this/know a fix please?

iPhone 16 Plus, iOS 18

Are you looking at your phone? If you are Face ID is doing it's job and your phone knows its you looking at it. Hand your locked phone to someone else and see if they can open control center when the phone is locked. They won't be able to.

You did the right thing by disabling access to Control Center when the iPhone is locked, and it should work.

However, you should be aware that FaceID captures your face as soon as your iPhone is locked. Try locking your iPhone - place a finger over the dynamic island area and hold it there to cover FaceID, then turn the screen back on and see if you have access to the Control Center.
