Unexpected battery replacement in preowned iPhone 14 Pro

I bought a preowned 14pro over a month ago, parts and service history was not visible which means no parts were replaced. Fast forward to today when I casually navigated to the about section, I noticed there is part & service history and the battery was replaced. I have been with the phone all the time since I got it and I’ve not given out the phone for a fix since I got it. Anyone has an idea how this is happening?

Normally there will be a notification at the top of the Settings menu informing about the battery. You usually also get a notification after the first setup. You may have overlooked it. The notification in the Settings menu also disappears after a few days, and you therefore have to go into About, and Parts & Service to discover it. That may explain why you haven't noticed it.

But the whole main reason you're seeing the message is because the battery has been replaced. If it says "Unknown" in the service history, it may be because the battery is not original - or not functioning correctly.

If you are nervous, or find that the battery is not working as you expected, then you must contact the place or the person you bought your iPhone from.

Hello~ No one is questioning your knowledge of iPhones nor your right to buy a used one. Do as you please. What I am trying to do is gather enough information to assist you as best I can. It may be a drop, an existing hardware issue or other damage. It may also be that the iPhone was tampered with before you purchased it. Take your iPhone in to Apple and have it checked out…
