How to disable voicemail summaries

The summaries for voicemail are often wildly incorrect and generally a waste of my brain-compute time.

How do we turn off voicemail summaries?

The speech to text is nice so there’s really no need to summarize a voicemail, especially when that summary is inaccurate.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to turn it off. You can try contacting your carrier and asking if there is a feature called something like "Visual Voicemail" on your account that can be disabled. With the carrier I worked for some years ago, I seem to recall that it wasn't possible to do that if the phone attached to the account was an iPhone, but I could be misremembering or things might have changed.

You could also just not read them.

Please ping me if you figure it out. I have no idea why this wouldn't have a toggle. All the other useless summaries have a toggle.

There is no ability to "ping" anyone on this forum. If you have subscribed to this thread and you have notifications enabled and someone posts a reply in it, you should get an email.

Meanwhile, you may want to let Apple know what you'd like to see here:

And, as I said above, you also have the option of not reading them.
