easy walking charges but can’t find it in subscriptions or app

That is because it is not a subscription managed by Apple and you are being billed by the developer directly. In most cases this is because you followed a link to the easyWalking website from a Social Media post, or advertisement, and that is why they are billing you. It makes no difference if you download the app or not, as you are being charged for a website subscription.

The information has been provided many times in this thread for you to contact them, and if unsuccessful then you will need to dispute the charge with the card being billed. Apple is not involved at all.

I can't even find an app with that name anywhere on the Internet. Are you sure you have the name right?

Once you do have the correct app name, your first step is to try to identify the reason for, and source of, these charges. They may be perfectly valid charges you simply do not recognize. In the case of emails or messages there is the possibility they are not real at all (phishing attempts).

The support article If you see 'apple.com/bill' on your billing statement - Apple Support and the related article Get help with charges from apple.com/bill - Apple Support explain how you can check your iTunes and App Stores purchase history, cancel subscriptions (remember that these need to be canceled at least 24 hours in advance), and track possible sources of unrecognized Apple charges you may see on a bill. These may be purchases by Family Sharing members, others sharing your card (such as a spouse or partner, or a second Apple Account you have; you may not see a receipt).

The article also provides a specific link for contacting Apple if you cannot trace the source of charges, e.g., if you subscribed to something directly with a third party, see: About purchases not billed through the App Store or the App Store’s In-App Purchase system - Apple Support instead. In that case you need to work directly with the vendor, not Apple.

If you use Apple Card you may find this document helpful too ➞ If you see an Apple Services charge you don't recognize on your Apple Card - Apple Support

Also note this service: View your App Store and iTunes Store purchases directly from your financial institution - Apple Support

"When you sign in to your financial institution website or mobile app and view your recent purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, or for Apple Music or iCloud services, you may see an option—such as View Receipt—that allows you to view more details about your transaction."

Other possibilities to consider (not all may apply in your situation):

● If you see duplicate subscription charges on a card but only one in your Apple subscriptions list, you may have subscribed once in-app through Apple and a second time directly with the vendor on their web site (e.g., YouTube). Cancel one of your subscriptions. The same can happen if you have two Apple Accounts.

● Purchases can be made with your account if your Apple Account is compromised (read what to do ➞ If you think your Apple Account has been compromised - Apple Support ) or somebody else has access to your device (require a purchase password as explained in this article ➞ Require a password for purchases in the App Store and other Apple services - Apple Support ).

● If you only see a charge in emails or texts that are not official Apple receipts, it is likely phishing attempts (see the article: Recognize and avoid social engineering schemes including phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support ).

● If neither you, nor Apple, nor a Family Sharing member can account for a charge and it ONLY appears on a bill for a charge card you alone control, you may have been the victim of card fraud. Contact your financial institution immediately. Any reimbursement would have to come from them, not Apple. More here —> Refund Rejected on fraudulent transaction - Apple Community

● Small amounts of ~$1 may be an authorization hold that will be refunded (pending charge ➞ How apps, content, and subscriptions from Apple are billed - Apple Support ).

● Unanticipated amounts may be grouped charges ( https://support.apple.com/HT201359 ).

If using Family Sharing and viewing purchase history under Report A Problem, make sure the “Apple ID” box is set to “All.” If a purchase is listed in your purchase history and you want to ask for a refund, read this article about how to request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple ➞ https://support.apple.com/HT204084 Remember that many apps have trial periods with subscriptions that then start automatically unless you cancel them in time. If a Family Sharing member made the purchase then you need to discuss this with that person. They would have to initiate any refund request.

If a reporting a problem request is unsuccessful or you have another issue you can also speak with Apple ➞ https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region

Select your country (if you do not see your country, also look for "other" regions; e.g., "Other Africa"), then "Choose a product". Click the "show" item under each category for more selections. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Same situation for me. I never downloaded this Easy Walkin app, and I have a $81 charge on my wallet!! I can’t even find the app in the AppStore! I do get charged by easy.walking.app every month! Twice a month! How can I find this app and actually cancel it?

You are not being charged because of any app, that is just the description of the charge that the merchant chose to appear on your bill. Usually users are tricked into visiting their website and they are billing you directly. How you got there is unknown , but usually it is from a link on a Social Media post or website advertisement. For most they have inadvertently signed up for a subscription without even knowing it, and it may have been disguised as a Free Trial.

Apple has nothing to do with any purchase/subscription made on a website, so the solution is the same for any other fraudulent purchase you see on a credit card. First you contact them at the email address that has been provided many times: support@walkingfl.fit. If you are not getting a resolution through the merchant, then you dispute the charge by contacting the bank of the issued card being billed.

If it was a subscription that was managed by Apple, they are easily cancelled with the link below, but I suspect that is not going to be the case here.

Another Update: I was offered a 50% refund a couple of days ago which I refused and demanded a full refund.

I received this email today below regarding my request for a full refund on the charges that app.easy.walking added to my debit card.

I suggest that everyone on this linked page who is out of pocket contact them at the email below and request a full refund, especially for that man who was charged for 6 months.

If you send them an email, make sure to include the link to this page which clearly shows a pattern of deceit and fraud for numerous people, and I hope you'll update this page with your results.

If you are not able to get a refund then please make a note of it here so I can pursue some further action against these scammers via Apple's apps for sale.

I'll wait about a month and then will contact Apple re their apps sold apparently from this less than reputable organization with any activity that is posted here.

I'll update this page when I get the refund.

Good luck,

D.

Hello Diane,

We appreciate you getting back in touch with us.

I want to assure you that Walking is a legitimate business with thousands of happy customers worldwide. We're published on the App Store and Google Play Market, where we're being checked on a monthly basis. Besides, our billing is handled by third-party platforms like Stripe and PayPal, which are picky regarding business cooperation.

That being said, we value our reputation and would never do anything intentionally to jeopardize our customers' trust in us.

We want to assure you that at Walking, customer service is and always will be a top priority. We're sorry to hear that your experience has been anything less than flawless.

This is to let you know that we have initiated the refund.

Refund percentage: 100%

Refund amount: 21.19 CAD, 12.71 CAD

You can expect the money back to the card you used during registration within 5-10 business days.

✔️ Your subscription is now cancelled too, meaning you won't be charged anymore.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Best regards,

Anastasiia

Easy walking is taking $61 out of my account up a month. I can't find it where I can cancel it. You have to help me. I have to take it out of my bank account.

Please read the posts in this forum. The information to contact the EasyWalking app developer has been posted many times and there is also additional information that you will find helpful.

Disputing any charge is done the same way, you contact the bank of the card being billed. I suspect your case is like others that have posted here and it is EasyWalking billing you directly where Apple is not involved at all.

If yours is like the others then it is not a charge that is managed by Apple at all and the company is billing your card directly. Those types of charges cannot be prevented by Apple as they are not involved.

Yes, your bank can help and required by law to do that. Banks in the US must follow the regulations for protecting consumers from fraudulent charges. When disputing a charge with your bank, it is always a 2 step process where you are first asked to contact the merchant for a refund, and if that is not possible then the bank will continue with the dispute process to stop further transactions and issue you a new card. If your bank is not being compliant, then you need to file a complaint with the CFPB.

My name is xxxxx. I need to cancel my easy walking app. I’ve tried to cancel it several times but each month I get charge $49.99 for one thing and $11.99 for something else. This is an app that I never use and it is not on my desktop of my phone so I don’t know why I’m being charged for it every month. Please cancel this charge for this month and in the future.

Please read the information that has been provided. The charge is not coming from Apple, so they won't be able to cancel it. Like others, you likely were directed to their website from a Social Media post (many are paid for a referral) and you inadvertently signed up for a free trial there that would become a subscription. It makes no difference if you have ever downloaded the app or not. You will need to contact that company and the email address has been provided many times. If you are unsuccessful in getting the charge cancelled, then you will need to dispute the charge with the card being billed.

Please don't include personal information on a public website such as this. We are simply other users like you and this is a Community forum to offer assistance with Apple products. Posting personal information could leave you open to a phishing scam where someone that claims to be from Apple will contact you in an attempt to gain access to your Apple Account/Financial account.

Please read the information that has been provided. You don't need to have the app and if your case is similar to others it has nothing to do with Apple at all. The contact information for the company that is billing you has been posted here:

And others had to resolve the issue of the fraudulent charge by disputing it with the bank of the card being billed. You were likely directed to their website from a link in a Social Media post or advertisement and inadvertently signed up for the free trial/subscription without knowing it.

I wanted to inform that it appears this is from an app created by 'ExtraMile'. I subscribed to "walking and weight loss tracker" - the email to their support is supposedly support@extramile-cy.io and their reviews are full of people complaining about how you're unable locate how the charges are incurred (not through apple) and unable to locate or get into your own account to cancel anything. good luck - I'm currently waiting to hear back from their support.

You likely didn't get the app and the charge is not one that is managed by Apple. No app is needed for the company to charge you after visiting their website and unwittingly signing up for a free trial that becomes a subscription. Dianita has provided the email address to contact the company many times and also included quite a bit of information that should have been read.

If you are unable to get a resolution from the company directly, then you will need to proceed by disputing the charge with the payment method being billed and they will also need to block future attempts to charge you.

I have received a charge on my bank account for A$68.80 at 9am this morning for an Apple app - app.easywalking - which I did not order and doesn’t actually exist

You signed up on their website, probably from a link on a Social Media page where a poster was paid a referral commission or an advertisement. The charge is not coming from Apple, so you will need to either contact the company charging you with the links already provided or dispute the charge with the payment method being billed.

Update - my bank (in Canada) is going to contest the $21 monthly charges because I was never able to download the app so I didn't receive something that I had paid for. Since they have already changed me an addition $14 in addition to the costs for the subscription, (for nothing), my bank is pursuing this charge via their Fraud department. I have also filed a formal complaint with FB, if they are going to let bandits prey on their customers, that's not looking good for them.

Good job! That is the correct path to take for any charge to dispute, whether that was a subscription on a website or any other time you have given your card details to a merchant where it was not being managed by Apple.

For apps in the App Store, it would not be possible to download an app that is not compatible with your device, so the subscription was not started through an in-app purchase that would be managed by Apple.

Please read the information that has been supplied. It has nothing to do with an app, as most people ending up following a link from a Social Media site or Advertisement and inadvertently signed up for a free trial/subscription. If you are unable to resolve the problem with the links that have been provided, then you will need to dispute the charge with the card being billed as a fraudulent transaction. They will have to block future charges, and not just issue you a new card, since VISA/Mastercard use an Automatic Billing Updater to transfer subscription charges to a new account number when it is simply changed without the charge being disputed.

I did not apply or approve app walk to take money from my Cash App account or any other account. That is a fraudulent charge. How do I discontinue this app?

First read the information provided for the resolution. Deleting an app is not going to stop a charge, and if your case has any similarities with the others posted here, no app is even necessary for you to receive those charges. Knowing the exact description of the charge on your Cash App is how you determine if you are being billed directly by the company or if the charge is being managed by Apple.

There has been contact information posted many times for the walking app noted in this thread, so if that is the same as yours then it would be a great place to start. If yours is from a different app, then that is where the exact description of the charge would be helpful, or if you see the app in your purchase history for your Apple Account.

Apple can only stop charges that it manages and you would see those in your Subscription list here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/118428?device-type=iphone

If not seen there, then Apple is not involved in the charge and you have 2 options:

  • Contact the developer with the email address posted many times here.
  • Dispute the charge with your credit card being billed.
