Since the release of iOS 26, the orange dot on my phone is always on. I tried al the help I could find online, but it simply keeps on.

If you open control center, by swiping down from the top right hand corner of your home screen, you'll be able to see what is using the microphone. Also, a simple Forced Restart, something I do after EVERY iOS update, will likely close whatever may be using the microphone --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

I too faced that issue. Some app might have used it recently. You can try to clear cookies and internet history and also reset settings. That might help the issue.

I'm sorry, but whatever I try, the orange dot is immediately back. When I open control center, on top I see in orange color "Accessibility Regelaars". When I tap this, a screen comes up which shows a microphone en alongside I have 4 options: Automatic, Standard, Stemisolatie, breed spectrum". But the dot stays on....
