Help resetting black screen iPhone 14pro

My wife’s iPhone 14 Pro had a black screen last night. Left on the charger (charger confirmed working with my phone) still black screen this morning.

I’ve tried resetting (volume up/down hold wake button) but it doesn’t seem to work.

I noticed when I do the reset steps, her phone vibrates when I press the side button, my phone does not vibrate during the reset process at all so not sure if that’s an indication it’s not resetting properly.

The major bummer is that she has an alarm that we can’t turn off, only snooze for 15 minutes!

We are on a cruise so I don’t have access to a computer.

Any suggestions on achieving a proper hard reset? Or just keep snoozing every 15 minutes till her battery dies lol!

It seems that the phone is still on, since you are receiving an alarm. But the screen is black - have you tried asking Siri to set the brightness to 100%? using Hey Siri or activating with the Side Button.

Since the phone vibrates when you try to do a forced restart, it sounds like it is not being performed properly. Forced Restart should work in any case, and since you feel a vibration, it may indicate that you may not be doing it quickly enough, or are holding the buttons down at the same time.

1. Tap Volume Up, quickly release.

2. Tap Volume Down, quickly release

3. Tap and hold the Side Button - hold until you (hopefully) see an Apple Logo on your screen.

Follow this animation if necessary:

If you want to avoid the alarm, you can try activating Siri and asking her to disable the alarm. If the hard restart doesn't work, try doing one again, where you just hold down the Side Button for at least 10 seconds, then the phone will go into Restore Mode, and you will get rid of the alarm. When and if you get the screen to come back to life, just restart the iPhone in the same way, and release when the Apple Logo appears.

Good luck.

Do you mean power button instead of wake, look here If your iPhone won't turn on or the screen is black - Apple Support Also try performing steps while phone is plugged into power source.
