Preserving reduced transparency and increased contrast with tinted Liquid Glass in iOS 26.1

In the new 26.1, in order to use Tinted for the liquid glass look for the notification screen, it asks us to disable Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast.

Is there a way to keep both?

I have a hard time distinguishing lines and shapes if the contrast is low and the line are not opaque. When it's transparent or less bold, I have a hard time seeing if things are underlined or boxed. I already have all of the setting to make thing thicker, bolder and bigger fonts just so I can distinguish what is on my screen, even with my reading glasses on.

Thank you!

No unfortunately those two accessibility settings have to be turned off.

I would say that the accessibility settings are more powerful, along with the Reduce motion one and the Display Borders one.

This is what I use for my wife's devices instead of the new switch..

Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text size, reduce transparency

Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text size , increase contrast

Settings, Accessibility, Motion, Reduce motion

Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text size , Display Borders

Thanks.

No, for me, it's just crazy that it's either one or the other, that Liquid Glass can't be switched off completely.

I just don't get it.

Paper is white. And mostly has black print. That's what I want. Just like this screen, here.

I hate Liquid Glass. It's pointless. And I need the thicker, bolder, more contrast and no transparency to just to be able to see anything on these tiny screens we all have to use as phones.

Thanks anyway

I'm having a similar issue after updating to iOS 26.1 this morning.

The options for "Reduce Transparency" and "Increase Contrast" are both completely broken in this update when using Dark appearance:

It feels like a cruel joke, to make the contrast this bad when enabling "Increase Contrast". Changing to Light mode does solve the contrast problem here, but causes other visual issues for me so isn't a viable solution.

With these options off, I find it difficult to read the text on a translucent background, regardless of "Clear" or "Tinted" glass. I can barely use my phone with this update.

There's also far more little animations and motions going on, despite having "Reduce Motion" enabled, but one step at a time.
