iPhone 17 Pro Max wireless Carplay disconnection

Hello my new iPhone 17 pro max is having issues with wireless CarPlay since day one. It constantly disconnects sometimes within the first minute and sometimes within 10 minutes and will not reconnect.

I have tried all the updates so far,

26.0.1 and also the new 26.1 with no change. I’ve tried resetting network settings, deleting CarPlay and setting up again with no improvement.

My old iPhone 15 Pro Max works flawlessly and has no issues. From what I understand this is a widespread issue and there is no fix yet?

I have the same issue on a new iPhone 17 Pro and a new iPhone 17 Pro Max (now on iOS 26.1) on both a six month old Audi Q4 and new Volvo EX30. Both use wireless. Both connect but if moving away from the CarPlay screen and then going back to CarPlay the screen is blank. Connect and reconnect works to bring back screen, useless using CarPlay now. Was fine on iOS 18.7 on older phones…
