age verification issues iPhone 16 chatgpt visual intelligence

I have a brand-new iPhone 16 running iOS 26.1. Every time I try and use visual intelligence I get the message that ChatGPT is only available to people over the age of 13. The age on my Apple account is verified and this feature works fine on my Mac mini.

Youll need to enable the chat got extension.

go to settings > Apple Intelligence & siri >extensions ChatGPT

follow the instructions on setting up and account. I just did the sign in with Apple method. Hope this helps.
