Preventing accidental screenshots on iPhone

Is it possible to turn off the screen shot feature. I don't use it but apparently putting the phone in my pocket causes the phone to take a screen shot.

Hard to fathom how you are managing that.

Taking screenshots require you press 2 buttons at he same time on opposite sides of the iPhone.

Unless your pants are super tight its hard to manage accidentally.

Do you maybe have the option for shortcuts using the back of the iPhone set to screenshots?

If the "double tap" option is set to Screen shots it may be getting activated there. You can turn that option off

click here ➜ Tap the back of iPhone to perform actions or shortcuts - Apple Support

Otherwise, the regular screen shot method using the volume up and sleep buttons cannot be disabled.

Do you have Back Tap enabled on your iPhone? This could cause unintended screenshots:

See this which explains how to enable or disable Back Tap --> Use Back Tap on your iPhone - Apple Support

And since you keep your phone in your pants pocket, it would be wise to turn OFF Tap or Swipe to Wake on your phone. Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch - Turn off Tap or Swipe to Wake. This will prevent your phone from accidentally shutting you out by unintended passcode entries, which often happens to people who carry their phone in their pocket. Going forward, you'll need train yourself to tap the side power button to wake your phone.

It is pretty easy to do because as you put it in or pull out the phone if you grab it in such a way that you are pushing the buttons to take a screen shot. But as Joe805 said it happens when I am simply adjusting to volume. You should be able to disable this feature but apparently Apple will not let you.

I will look into the double tap on the back, didn't even know that was an option

Thanks
