iPhone 13 backup deletion warning after setting up a new phone

It’s coming up saying my back up will be deleted in 31 days what does this mean.. I set up a new phone and deleted content on my old phone thanks

iPhone 11 temporary backup deleting data in 18 days So I bought a used iPhone 11 from Best Buy and I tried to set it up from my old iPhone SE. And almost every thing transferred. I did have to log back into most of my apps but that wasn’t a big deal. Unable to delete old backup I’ve just bought a new iPhone and set it up using my backup from my old phone. Now I have 2 backups, my old phones backup and a backup of my new phone. when I select my old phones backup and select “turn off and delete from iCloud” I get an error saying “this backup cannot be deleted at this time”. I’ve tried all the suggestions I can see online. sign out of iCloud/turn off/on/sign back in performed multiple restores tried to delete on iCloud on laptop. Turned off backup and deleted new phones backup before trying to delete old one again. none of these have worked. I’ve had to increase my storage plan because of this, it’s not the end of the world it’s just driving me mad that I can’t delete it. can anyone offer any other suggestions please (anyone had same issue)

When you set up a new iPhone and you may be out of space in iCloud, Apple will let you use your data on your old phone to create a temporary backup for the data transfer. It is a courtesy, but the backup will be deleted in the time frame referenced, unless you buy more space in iCloud.
