Continuing Monthly AppleCare on a Used Devicr

Looking to confirm this:

I’m looking a buy a iPhone 16 pro off someone. This phone is still under regular warranty and the current owner pays for the monthly AppleCare subscription.

If I buy the phone off him and he cancels his AppleCare subscription then, will I be able to enroll in the monthly AppleCare subscription?

No, they need to transfer the AppleCare+ Plan to you as the new owner. See this --> Transfer your AppleCare plan - Apple Support

Since you will be buying a used iPhone from someone (hopefully, someone you know personally), please make sure they have done this before you buy the phone --> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you don't know this person personally, nor can you see the phone before you buy it - DON'T BUY IT. Read this about buying used devices --> The All Too Common SAD Reality of Buying … - Apple Community
