Magic Mouse not responding to hand movements on screen

I have checked it is fully charged, bluetooth is on and finds the mouse, but every now and then it ignores my moving it and seems to hover on the page however I move my hand

Original Title: my magic mouse frequently ignores my hand movement and won't move on the screen unless I get cross and bang it down!

magic mouse clicks not releasing after dragging windows Sometimes when I clicked and drag a window, the window moves a little after I release the bluetooth magic mouse. It's surprisingly frustrating. It's as if the mouse is not releasing fully when I complete the drag, and as a a result the window goes in the direction I move the mouse afterward. What was especially confusing was when I saw something similar with my trackpad, but not as consistently. Eventually, I realized that was because my mouse was still "on" -- when I turned it off, the trackpad had no problems. Regular clicks seem to work fine -- just dragging is a problem. This problem has gradually gotten worse over time.

New magic trackpad is not scrolling or do any gestures I bought a new Magic Trackpad, and it is connected via Bluetooth, but gestures are not working. I can only move the cursor with one finger and click; scrolling or other gestures do not function. I have enabled everything under Accessibility and Trackpad settings. Please advise.

have you tried to use a mouse pad even if it's just a piece of paper to see if that helps?

otherwise you could try the mouse with another device to verify that it's not a physical defect with the mouse
