Iphone 16 pro - No service in either simcards after flight mode

My one year old Iphone 16-pro indicates "No Service". I have two simcards one physical and eSim and neither of them gets any signal.

I tried:

  1. Network reset
  2. Updated to the most recent IOS
  3. Hard reset
  4. Flight Mode on and off

Nothing worked so far.

I did not try "Erase all content and Reset" because unfortunately this happened when I went to holiday with a fligth. At least for now, I have access to everything when I am connected to the WiFi. If factory reset does not work, then I will also lose some of the loggings that requires sms confirmation.

Any idea ?

Had you told us initially that one carrier was at home and one carrier was on vacation and could not be tested simultaneously then I would not have initially applied the logic that two carriers being equally incompetent had a low probability.

If you do try two Sims in one location and neither works then following the other troubleshooting, I continue to suggest hardware as a possible causation. Yes warranty.

So, is there a solution to that ? My phone is still in guarantee so I will immediately contact when I go back home. However, I was looking for an easy solution as I am in another country. Also the weird thing is that, I just had everything working, before I turned airplane mode one. Then couple of hours later, I turned off the airplane mode, and neither simcard worked. Since that day, I tried my simcard on other phones and it worked. I also tried 2 more ( 2 apart from the two I have ) simcards but mine phone does not have any service.

Everything I write here can be real or not, 50% chance. People can make up things, or they can literally write what they experience. Perception of others, on the other hands, is not in control of the OP. In 2025, unfortunately, it is very difficult to live without the smartphones. If I was not in need of help, I would not have written here at all.

Of course, you may not believe me, or even if you believe you may not choose to help. I cannot do much ! But thanks for your effort so far.

Just to let you know, the local providers are not in well communication. I cannot contact my provider at home easily since I am in holidays in another country. My phone is still in guarantee, however, there is no apple store where I currently am. Hence, it is not easy for me to contact an apple store, neither my provider in my home country. That is why I was looking for help from other people who may know an alternative solution. Besides, trying many different simcards that work on other phones and having no service is a clear indication for me to say there

there is a phone-related problem.

First, I will activate two different simcards and they will see no service. Then, we will talk again. I dont know how apple store approaches this situation at all.

Again, I can contact my provider and come back to the apple store. Then they can either believe me or not. These are not in my control.

Besides, as soon as I can contact my local shop and provider, I will do so for sure.

Just to clarify:

I came to a holiday destination that I frequently visit, this year 4th time. Since I come here frequently, I have a simcard from this country from a local provider. My phone also has a eSim from my home country, which is open for roaming and has been used in this holiday destination before also other parts of the world several time.

After this problem occured couple of days ago, my phone gave "No Service" with 1. Local simcard that is used before, 2. eSim of my home country, 3. Two different Simcards from two other local providers. Furthermore, I have tried these local simcards on other iphones, and they work. I am convinced that it is a phone problem rather than a simcard problem.

I will contact the apple store as soon as I return back. Thanks
