The unread message count on the homescreen iMessage icon is incorrectly displaying an unread message. There are no messages w blue dot in the app. Is there a way to clear the inaccurate count?

Go though every folder including the trash, changing the filter to Unread, there must be one somewhere.

Thanks. One needs to have updated to iOS 26 for that (holding off until new iPhone).
However, toggling "Filter Unknown Senders" on and off in Settings>Messages forced it to reveal spam unread message.
