how do i fix my apple music it keeps saying cannot connect

I try tapping on a song for example high hopes it says with a pop up “cannot connect”

(1) You can check your wi-fi / internet connection is working ok. Eg: is Safari working ok?


(2) You can try restarting your iPhone or iPad (or on Mac: use Apple menu > Restart) to re-establish the connection:

(3) If you still need help: Check whether your device (or Mac) has an update waiting to be installed:

Updates often have bug-fixes / security updates / etc., and keeping updated can oftn side-step issues.


  • Check in Settings (or System Settings on Mac) > General > Software updates.
  • If you choose to update the OS: Reminder: It is wise to first back-up your iPhone or iPad, or your Mac
