I received several good answers and followed up on downloading Firefox 115.29.0esr but it didn't do the trick. My IMAC is using MAC OS Mojave 10.14.5.
Any suggestions to change it to a more current OS. I am a trog older type so the simpler the better! Thank you all.

Which 21.5" iMac do you have? The hardware model year - which you can probably see in > About This Mac – will determine, whether, and how far, you can upgrade macOS.
might help if you update to 10.14.6

sometimes running the combo 10.14.6 updater on top of a 10.14.6 suspect install cleans out the problem
I run Mojave on about 5 Macs -- no issues latest FF 115.29.0esr
Firefox> About FireFox> Update (on this from a working 10.14.6 system):
if you don't have FF already installed just find an old installer from your backups, install it, then update if from above screen...
