Clock no longer displays full name of alarm

Only on the lock screen, will my alarm clock show the full description of the alarm. With my iPhone unlocked, my alarm clock shows the description as a banner at the top of my screen and only shows the first three letters of the description of the alarm. I have so many alarms set that I need to know what the alarm is for. How do I fix this? Thank you!
