Sending email addresses can be faked, forged, and spoofed.

Recipient email addresses can be mistyped by the sender.

Scammers routinely seek to engage and entrap recipients into their schemes.

Several folks submitted my email addresses as theirs too, when subscribing to advertising email, when booking rental cars across Europe including around the Iberian peninsula, among other mix-ups.

Which of these happened here — or something else entirely — nobody knows.
