Mac Wi-Fi automatically disconnects

Model: Apple M3 Max, 36 GB RAM

OS: build 26.0.1 (reported as 25A362)

My Mac connects to Wi-Fi normally, but after about 2–3 minutes it disconnects automatically. I then have to reconnect it manually, and this keeps happening repeatedly. In the system log, I noticed repeated IO80211 peer-scan activities followed by “ScanError” messages and driver event-pipe teardown events like “IO80211PeerManager::setScanningState ... source:ScanError, err:3766617154” and “IO80211APIUserClient::destroyEventPipe.” It seems like the Wi-Fi interface keeps resetting on its own.

Hi Leroy,

Thanks for your quick response. I've updated my macOS, and the current version is 26.1 (25B78). After the update, it worked fine for about 15–30 minutes, but the issue has started occurring again.

Let me know if you need any further tweaks

The current stable release of Tahoe including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 26.1 - I would start there
