'Continue Playing' Function in Apple Music (Tahoe 26.1) Not Working Properly

I have Tahoe 26.1.

If you are in Apple Music's artist view, and you have an artist with several albums, you used to be able to double-click a track from an album, and it would play that track and then proceed down the tracklist, album by album, matching what you see in the GUI. Now, once that album is complete, a totally random album from a completely different artist will start playing after the album I selected finishes playing. Looking at the Continue Playing queue, after the random album is listed, there's an entirely new random album listed.

(It appears that the next album comes from the same year, and that after this butchered version of Apple Music finishes playing albums from the year 1969, it'll start playing albums from 1970, starting with the first artist in the alphabet that has a 1970 album, ad nauseam.)

It's infuriating.

Thank you for the screenshot.

Playing Next Intermission:

Though maybe not the same, this may come down to a new sign in. This is what is performed when Apple Music is stuck in a "Playing Next Loop". See my User Tip: Fixing the Music App Stalled in a “Playing Next Loop” - Apple Community

How to fix this…

Perform a New Sign In: Essentially, it is a matter of signing out of your Apple Account in Music and then signing back in. After signing back in, the error message will instantaneously vanish, and you will be able to play your audio files, once more. Here are the instructions to do so, in depth:

  1. Locate: the message
  2. Go to: Account menu
  3. Select: Sign Out
  4. Go to: Account menu
  5. Select: Sign In
  6. Click: Play

"Already tried that. No bueno."

Play Queue Intermission:

If the play queue is static and then dynamic, then this indicates this is a bug.
