Do you already have service with AT&T on an eSim? If yes, when you move your data from your current iPhone to your new iPhone, you'll be asked if you want to move your eSim to the new phone and it will verify, then activate on the AT&T Network. If any of this is too complex for you, simply call AT&T and they help you get your service moved to your new iPhone once you have the new phone.

What happens when you power up the phone?

If it isn't activated by AT&T, then you'll need to get in touch with AT&T.
