iPhone 16 Pro Max Quick Start not connecting to old iPhone

Setting up a brand new iPhone 16 pro max, I chose the language and country, chose the size of text and icons, then on the Quick Start page, this phone will not connect to my current phone (iPhone 16 plus) when they are next to each other. Bluetooth and wifi are switched on on my current phone. What is going wrong?

Follow the on screen prompts on both phones, enter the passcode. The Quick Start setup then gets stuck on "continually looking for nearby devices" even though they are already talking. I have updated the new iPhone (it asked me to do this first up), I have also tried turning both off and restarting. Bluetooth and Wifi are turned on on my older phone, presuming they are both turned on on the new phone but can't get that far to check. Any suggestions, tips or tricks?? Thank you!!

iPhone 17 Pro Max stuck on setup, can’t complete transfer from old iPhone Setting up my iphone 17 pro max. At first, on Quickly Set Up Iphone page, it could detect my iphone 14 pro max with no issue. Followed the steps which led to an iphone update on the new phone. After update completed, it brought me back to the hello setup page back. However, tried to set it up again, now it is stuck on 'Looking for nearby devices' on the Quickly set up Iphone page. Select 'Set Up Without another Device' which brings me to transfer your apps & Data page, select Transfer from another iphone, old iphone receive pop up and scan the image on new iphone. But it gets stuck here. New Iphone shows 'Waiting for Other Iphone...' while on the old iphone shows 'could not sign in on other device' and that it ask to check whether bluetooth is turned on. Old iphone bluetooth is on, not able to go to bluetooth setting page on new iphone without setting up new iphone with no old phone data. New iPhone 14 Pro, update to iOS 18 stalled during setup and transfer from old phone I'm setting up a new (bought refurbished from official refurbished Apple Store) iPhone 14 Pro, and initiated the setup to transfer data from my iPhone 13 mini, including the setting up the eSIM. At some point, I was prompted to update to iOS 18. It downloaded and completed the progress bar, but now it's stuck on the Software Update screen, with just the iOS 18 description, a Learn More bar that I can't tap, and a grey button bar with a spinning loading wheel. It responds to lock, swipe up to unlock, and takes my passcode, but otherwise I cannot interact with it at all. My old iPhone 13 mini has a waiting for software update screen, instructing to keep it near the new phone while information transfers. It's been like this for 2+ hours. What do I do? It doesn't look like it's doing anything. My wifi is on and connected to the internet
