Apple ID not an option for signing into Mail

Ok, that is not to sign into the Mail app using your Apple Account, that is to add a mail account.

• If you are looking to use the iCloud email account that comes with an Apple Account, then you must have it turned on here and that is an iCloud account where you would use the iCloud option.

• If your Apple account is using an email address from another email provider, such as xxxx@gmail.com, then that is a Google account that you would want to add. What do you have after the "@" symbol for your Apple Account. Please don't post your full Apple Account.

Please post a screenshot of what you are seeing and make sure it does not include any personal information such as email addresses.

Then you will need to choose Google on that screen and enter your Google Password for that account. Google may require you to authenticate your account using Safari. You will then see your Google email account added to the Mail app.

Are you entering your Google Account Password. It is not your Apple Account password that it is asking for.
