My wife just bought the iPhone 17 Pro Max 1TB. The camera keeps going blank every few days and she has to to restart the phone. Has anyone else seen this with the new phones ?

Original Title: Camera malfunction
In my case, I went to the Apple Store and a Genius advisor ran some tests. He confirmed it was a camera hardware issue and replaced the camera lens. Took about 4 hours. It works afterwards.
FYI that I did try all recommended steps; such as, restart, resetting and change camera settings, but that didn’t work. Resetting was a pain as some applications needed reconfiguring; such as, Okta verification and Microsoft authentication.
I just found this article. Interesting that this exact issue just happened to my wife's 17 pro max. She was already running IOS 26.2 when all the sudden this issue happened...unknown hardware. Her front camera still works, but not rear. I tried the steps Jeff D provided, but that didn't help. Already made an appointment with Genius, so we'll see.
I have been having the same problem. I have done the restart and everything Apple has suggested. Works for a little while then either turns black or blurry. This happened in my last phone also. So it has been going on for while.
She is using the native camera app. The phone is on 26.1 it happens on the front and rear camera and in photo and video mode. It’s completely black in all modes until the phone is rebooted
facing same issue. Mine is 17 pro, ios - 26.01. and needs rebooting everyday to fix it
how do we raise this issue. This snag needs to be addressed soon

Sorry to hear that. Like I stated it works for some, but not everyone. Which iPhone 16 model and iOS version are you using? Have you contacted Apple Support?
