Cannot send emails in Mail after update

I cannot send mail on Mac Mail (I assume) after a recent update. When I hit send, I get the following error:

It does not seem to matter which email account I am using to send the mail (Gmail or Proton), and the only way I can get the email to go out is to save it as a draft, quit the app and restart Mail, after which the email goes out fine.
