Sonos playback not contributing to Apple Music listening history

I’m losing faith with Apple Music as a partner for Sonos. I have just discovered (probably late to the party) that anything I play through Sonos does not then get pricked up by Apple Music as part of my listening history.

That means c75% of my listening is ignored by the algorithm - no wonder the suggestions then don’t seem to stack up.

I considered using air play but that just is not as clean, and more of a deal breaker it isn’t lossless quality.

why can’t the Sonos listening count towards my history?
