Do you meet these requirements:
Use Live Translation with your AirPods - Apple Support
Instructions are also available on that Support page where you need to download the language that you want translated and steps to set up.
And to confirm, your AirPods 4 are with ANC.
Are you attempting to to activate with the Start Listening button in the Translate app, Siri, or one of the other methods?
Have done all that still not working
Current firmware is 8B21 doesn’t appear to be the correct one but have followed the directions to update nil luck
