How to stop automatic Bluetooth connection

Can we stop auto Bluetooth connection? If not why not, and when will we have this control. I’m getting to the point of looking into getting a droid….

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

Show us what you are seeing.

  • If the device was previously paired, it will automatically connect until you "Forget" them.
  • Devices connected using an app will have the option to revoke that permission at Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth. In that case, you would have had to give the app permission to Bluetooth for connections first.
  • You will see any Bluetooth device in the area, but they are not connected to your iPhone, the same way you will see other WiFi connections in the area and they are not connected either.

No

If not why not,

Because that's the way Apple designed it. We can't address any question of "why" Apple made the design decision they did.

and when will we have this control.

You would have to ask Apple. They have not given any indication that this will change.

Go ahead. We don't care. Making ridiculous threats is not going to alter reality.

And how disappointed you'll be to learn that iPhone and Android conform to the same Bluetooth Standards. But knock yourself out and buy a droid, as no one here cares what phone you choose to own.

Jeff Donald is correct that you're likely seeing LE Bluetooth devices and an Android would do the very same thing.
