Multiple Apple Music crashes on Apple TV 4K

Since updating to latest version of TV OS (26.1), Apple Music on Apple TV 4K (A2843) will crash in the middle of playing a song. It happens 2-3 times over the course of a few hours, regardless of restarting the app or the Apple TV itself.

I have seen threads talking about inactivity timers but don’t think that’s my issue. The crashes happen when music is playing and just listening, or when music is playing and I’m using the music app search function.

I have experienced this issue before on earlier versions of TV OS but it is really getting frustrating and I’m ready to cancel my monthly service to find another.

Please please please help find a solution.

physical apple store and asking other customers their advice

I have the same issue. Initially when the music app crashed the Apple tv reported an airplay problem (“Cannot connect…”) in spite of the fact that nothing was playing over airplay. I then disabled airplay completely on the apple tv and now the music app just crashes out with no dialogue box / feedback.

Apple tv model: 4k 1st generation A1842 32GB

TVOS 26.1 (23J582)

Network connection: Ethernet

Output: HDMI to 5.1 receiver

Here’s another question: shouldn’t this forum be called Apple Commiseration Communities?

I have not found support here, only others experiencing different forms of the same problem.

Im ready to go back to compact discs and vinyl. They are so much less buggy.
