Disable autoplay audio and video in Safari using Webkit

Hello

Could some please suggest Webkit settings to ‘apply’ so that webpages do not start rendering embedded audio & video streams - which is so annoying!

It is a pity apple is shipping a default browser in billions of user devices that do not have an option to disable video & audio autopaying..

To fully disable autoplay:

  1. Enable Safari’s Develop menu
  2. In Experimental Features, set Autoplay Policy → Disallow / Strict
  3. Enable Require User Gesture for Audio/Video
  4. Set normal Safari website settings to “Never Auto-Play”
  5. (Optional) Disable WebRTC autoplay-related features

After this, Safari behaves like Firefox with autoplay disabled — nothing starts playing unless YOU click it.
