Im on holiday in Thailand and my screen is 80% damaged.
I need a new iPhone and will to buy one here. My question is that are there any software or hardware issues I may have when I get back to the uk. Or are the Thai and UK phones the same ?

Such as Niel said, if a repair is ever needed outside of Thailand it can be denied. Also there may be different features available on that region's iPhone that are typically available to you. Lastly but not least, you can experience slowed cellular speeds as each region's iPhone supports different bandwidths.

You should always buy a phone in the country in which it will be used most of time time. If you live in the UK most of the time, then buy a phone in the UK.
Thanks for the advice. Not back in UK for some time. I could put a new screen in but there again it may a hardware problem causing the blotchy screen and the phone is nearly 7 years old. So I’ll buy one in the UK and hopefully find a willing mule i know coming to Bangkok airport.

Does your iPhone XR still have its original battery?

Why not just fix the screen?
Battery at 92% capacity and replaced last year. The phone has been great up to now. Time to move on i guess.. Thanks for your helpful suggestions.
