Buying new iPhone in Dubai … for necessity (screen seriously damaged).

I’ve had a problema with my iPhone. I need to buy another one but I’m in Dubai at the moment. I’ll be back in Italy in a week. What are the limitations (warranty, services, using internet and so on) in using the new iPhone 17 pro (my intention) in Italy? Thank you in advance.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 26

If there is any way you can wait the one week until you get home to Italy, it would best for you to purchase your iPhone in your home country. You refer to international warranty. There is no international warranty for iOS based devices and Apple's specific warranty says that "warranty may be limited to the country of purchase." Dubai is a tricky place to purchase an iPhone in. Many sellers do sell authentic iPhones, but many of those sellers procure devices from all around the world. So you could wind up with a phone intended to be sold in a different country, which may make any support you need for your new phone limited to impossible, especially, if a replacement phone may be required.

I would find a way to hold out until you get home to Italy, to avoid what could be a major hassle in the future.

With an Apple Store that close. I doubt you’ll have much of an issue, especially if you purchase Apple Care.

When purchasing look at the box and find the Model Number. It will look something like this, MFXL4LLA. You can Google the model number and ascertain what country that model is intended for. Then determine its suitability for your needs.

Where you have LL they need to look for IP specifically for Italy market or general model A3523 for "other countries" as in my first link.

The international warranty has more limitations and possible exclusions. Apple Authorized Service has the right to refuse service (may lack parts, may not be trained on your particular model etc.). You may have to send to a repair center. Replacement units may not be exact model and have different SIM and/or eSIM configurations. It all varies by country and region where service is requested.

Apple Retail Stores are better equipped to handle international warranties if the need arises. But there are still limitations and exclusions.
