How do I set iMessage address on phone number instead of email?

My iMessage adress was set on the number a kid of my neighbor clicked on email but now it’s not setting on the phone number it shows buffering icon the number option and when i click on emial it sets quickly i watched a lot of yt videos but nothing worked. Need a solution 😐
