How do I turn off ability for my kid to change “Region” on their iPhone?!?!

Frustrated parent here! I know this is a familiar issue to others - kids finding workarounds to bypass screen time settings. How, for the love of life, can I turn off the ability for my child to change the “Region” under their settings?!?! From my online searches, it looks like this used to be a setting you could turn off under screen time controls, but it is no longer there. Apple, if you’re listening, you need to DO something about this!

If you can tell me where to actually find "Language and Region" under parental controls, or even on my kid's iphone under their screen time controls, so that I can change it to "Don't Allow," that would be amazing. It's nowhere to be found. I'm not sure if it's an iOS 26 change or what?

Region change is in iPhone, Settings, [tap your name], Media and purchases so if you prevent account changes it will disallow region changes. They will be unable to tap on their name in settings, it will be greyed out.

Take another look at my post again.

What phone? Seriously. That iPhone either gets issued from the lock box when leaving the house and gets re-collected and locked away when arriving back at the house, or that iPhone gets replaced with the cheapest feature phone available.

But your adversary here is of course wily, observant, persistent, and with ready access to near-infinite support resources and collective experience. Any kid so inclined will be able to bypass everything available for parental controls too, and on an allowance-scale budget. Kids have agency. You will lose this battle, if you choose to directly engage, and if your child is inclined to resist. this including device confiscation. Best go asymmetric with your efforts here, given the choice.

As for avoiding the Apple Account region change, blocking that should be available via Parental Controls and disabling any changes to the account settings: Use parental controls to manage your child's iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

I don’t have a current iOS image, but this should be close:

I don't have kids, so I'm not familiar with Parental Controls enough to help you. But I did want to let you know that Apple isn't here, so no, they aren't listening. You can call Apple directly for help if no one knows the solution you need. If you're in the US, call them at: 800-MY-APPLE.

Without being rude, if I did have a kid and they went against my implicit permissions, my kid would lose their phone privileges. I remember being a kid once. And no, we didn't have electronics, but if I went against my parents wishes, I was punished.

Unfortunately preventing account changes does not work. Tried and tested on my phone, and still can make changes to region. ;(

Yep, my adversary is all those things and more. She has been warned and will lose the phone for good next time.

You should not be able to open account settings. It should be greyed out like this
