iPhone does not eject from Finder or Music

Hi All,

About 3 months ago during a routine backup to Mac, I was unable to eject my iPhone 11 from Finder and Music app (on MacBook Air 2024).

Advice from this community (eject iPhone, then restart) worked for awhile, but during recent backups the iPhone 11 will eject momentarily, but shows up immediately again re-opening Finder/Music.

This appears as a bug in my machine, wondering how others have resolved it. As it remains problematic, as the iPhone will not eject, what risks exist for the bug continuing?

Thank you.

Unlike other things you might need to eject from Finder on a Mac, iPhone doesn't require ejecting. You can sync or backup or restore your phone from a backup and once complete, simply disconnect your iPhone from your Mac. Thus, you don't lose anything by unplugging your phone after doing whatever action you need to do.

Thank you, I didn’t realize that not ejecting devices no longer poses a risk.

I didn't say not ejecting ANY devices can't cause issues. If, for example you are using a SSD for Time Machine Backup, you DO NEED to eject it once you've backed up. But iOS devices don't have to be ejected like external storage devices do.

But, you're welcome.
