Apple TV show episodes out of order, incorrect metadata

My Episodes of Always Sunny in Philadelphia are out of order, and I can't fix them. Whoever is listing them on Apple TV failed to account for the current box sets available for purchase. I purchased Season 1-5 and then purchased Season 6-10 and instead of being in order it does the following.

When checking the properties of the episodes it doesn't have the Season filled in and it is causing the Season 1 Episode 1 to be next to Season 6 Episode 1.

I am not able to change this unless I download, and even if I do it doesn't show in any other places like Apple TV or my Phone.

Any Ideas?

This is just how it is because Apple TV makes shows an absolute abysmal mess unless you purchase season by season. Mine is the same. It’s because Apple has absolutely failed in this regard, and no amount of resetting your device or signing out or anything else is going to change it until they decide to get their act together and fix this on the back end for ALL shows.

If you’re using the Apple TV device, you can long press on the show’s main icon, select “Go to Show”, and navigate through seasons and episodes that way. Then auto play should work correctly. But if you’re using the Apple TV APP on any other device, you’re just hosed.

Yes It is the Apple TV itself. If you have a lower 64MB model this is most likely why. Delete all the apps you don't use. I had the exact same issue and went to the 128 MB model. I would bet the more bigger updates are taking up more space and causing the issue. Apple really should not sell the lower end versions. The other way it just to use your apple home sharing. That seems to be fine and has no issues. It has nothing to do with the meta data or naming. My issue was instantly solved when I switched to the 128MB one.

these forums are user helping other users like yourself, it's sort of going

to a physical apple store and asking other customers their advice

best bet I suppose is to sign out of the appleID and back in and or pull the plug on the appletv device and the wifi router and see if that helps

Sbtild, this is simply untrue. I have three Apple TVs in my home, two of which are new models purchased within the last year, and ALL of them have this issue. When I access this content on my iPhone or iPad, it does the exact same thing. When I use the Apple TV app on a TV made by a third party, it does this. It is an issue with certain content across ALL Apple apps and devices.

It is not the model number Apple has sold several versions they have one with only 64MG on it. I just bought one with only 64 MG on it thinking it was the Apple TV dying it had the same issue. I happened to have one with 124 MG and used that one and everything was fine. As far as the other apple devices I have no idea because all my shows and content came out fine on my Ipad and Iphone, I have high. storage on both All I am saying is that my issue corrected when I switched to the higher MG Apple TV. I can also say that I have a Google Cromecast and all the content came out correct on that device. I don't know how old your other apple devices are so will not comment on that. All I know is the higher MG Apple TV worked and solved the same issue for me.
