iPhone 8 Siri not responding

I am trying to set up Siri everything is turned on in Siri and search. I have toggled the button to set Siri up and it tells me to say “hey siri” but then says Siri didn’t get that please say again. I’ve tried changing language and have reset my phone. I did download Amazon Alexa to interact with my watch but uninstalled it, could that have changed a setting? My microphone works fine I’ve done a voice recording and Siri does show when I hold the home button. My iPhone is iPhone 8, thank you

Settings > General > Accessibility > Siri > Type to Siri [Disable]

Siri relies heavily on the bottom + front mics. Try these:

a. Test the mics manually

Open Voice Memos → record something → play it back.
1. If your voice is faint or crackly → the mic hole may be blocked or dirty.
Try a video using the front camera (tests the top mic) and rear camera (tests bottom mic).

b. Clean the mic mesh

Use a soft dry toothbrush or clean dry cotton swab.

Avoid blowing air or using liquids.

Thank you for your reply I’ve done recordings and I’ve called a friend the mics fine and it’s turned off for talk to type. If I press and hold the home button and talk saying “hey siri enable” it says “sorry can’t do that at this moment”. If I put it in voice control and say “hey siri” it says calling ‘brothers name’.
