How to clear excessive system data/cache?

Is there any actual way to clear System data/cache? My iPhone decided to fill itself with cache files out of blue! The memory is about 40% of system data and my phone doesn't work properly because there's no free memory!

There's no obvious app that is causing this. I didn't even install anything new. It's unbelievable there's no button for deleting the cache.

Typically, when System Data becomes bloated, it indicates you have some corrupt data there. The easiest way to remove it is to backup your iPhone and restore your phone from backup, preferably using your computer, but over the air can work too.

You miss all of the stored previous system data associated with each and every "update" that you have ever done in the past.

You only need the system data associated with the current iOS version installed. Erasing the phone will get rid of all the previous data garbage that is no longer needed......and taking up a lot of storage space.

Some advanced users never just run an "update"when a new iOS version is available, they erase the phone and then restore from an up to date backup. Same for Mac users.

Most users call this a "clean install", but it's not for everyone. You need to have some idea of what you are doing.
