Blocked Contacts now sorted in phone number order in iOS 26??

I just recently upgraded to ios 26. In order to make room in my Blocked Contacts I usually go in once a week and delete the oldest blocked numbers. This was easy as prior to 26, the numbers were listed from oldest to newest. Today I went to unblock a group of numbers and found that they are now listed in the numerical order of the phone numbers!?! Why was it changed? Is there a way to change back to sorting oldest to newest? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

On my Mac there is no order to them that I can tell and on my iPad they are still oldest to newest and I have looked for a setting on both devices and haven't found anything that lets you set the order. Hopefully Apple rectifies this in future updates.

Mine are in number sequence, I don't think the order can be changed, I have no ios18 devices to see what the situation was before. Number sequence seems more sensible to me.

I am happy to see this change. I’ve had instances where I wanted to unblock a number and I spent ages scrolling thru the list to find it. Apple should add a search function, or give a sorting choice of numerically or by date blocked.

Well, lack of activity suggests that I am the only one dealing with this. I guess I will have to live with it. Thanks anyway.

Thanks, I know that in iOS 18 and earlier they were from oldest to newest. I had reached my limit in the number of contacts blocked, so I go in and delete the oldest ones at the top of the list. Now I go in and they are sorted by the number. I thought it might have had something to do with the upgrade and that it would be good going forward. However, today I blocked a number and then went into the list and it had also been sorted by number also. Hopefully it will get fixed or someone can tell me what to do.
