Music in iTunes for Windows is grayed out and unplayable

I have installed itunes for windows on my computer. I can see all of my music but it is grayed out and I am unable to play them. How do I fix it?

Your music is not actually downloaded to the computer

Even if you see the songs, iTunes may only be showing placeholders from your library — with no actual audio files.

Fix:

  1. In iTunes, click View → Only Downloaded Music
  2. → If nothing appears, the songs are NOT on the computer.
  3. Click the cloud icons next to each album or song to download them
