I cannot pair my new Apple Watch SE second Gen to my iPhone XR. My phone is fully updated. the chart says SE works for XR because XR came out after the iPhone 8 Restarted both devices and nothing.

The Watch SE 2nd gen was compatible with the XR. Unfortunately, a new one will come with watchOS 26 installed, which requires a phone running iOS 26. It will not work with your XR.
If you got the watch from Apple you can return it within 14 days.

No watch currently being sold by Apple will work with your iPhone XR.
You need a phone running iOS 26. That means an iPhone 11 or newer.
Wanna buy me one? Can’t afford one out right or monthly payments for one at the moment.
